One of the most popular and sought-after signage displays for
advertising, exhibiting, and event promotion are tension fabric and tension fabric displays.
But what is tension fabric, how does it function, and how is it utilized in
signs and displays?
The term "tension fabric" basically refers to a fabric cover
stretched over a rigid frame. The fabric is tailored to the contours of the
frame that it is pulled over. Polyester tension fabric is one of the most
well-liked and frequently used materials for banners and trade show displays.
Because it is a synthetic material that retains color well over time in
sunlight and when machine cleaned in cold water, polyester fabric is a popular
choice for tension fabric displays. One of the most important advantages of
this type of fabric is its ability to retain the vibrant colors that are
produced on polyester tension fabric. Polyester tension textiles are also
incredibly lightweight and strong.
As previously indicated, tension polyester fabric nearly always
maintains its color after being washed in cold water. This is due to both the
fabric's inherent endurance and the printing technique used to produce the
colors and designs. Printing with dye sublimation is that procedure.
In contrast to printing "on" cloth, dye sublimation printing
involves transferring the ink into the polyester material with a heat press.
When the fabric is processed via the heat press, the heat converts the ink from
the transfer paper that the picture was first printed on in reverse into a gas
that the fabric absorbs.
Typically, tension fabric displays are made of aluminum
tubing-like hardware that assembles quickly and easily. The polyester fabric is
designed to fit over and take the shape of the aluminum tubing hardware, which
frequently has unusual shapes and designs. Tension or "stretch" fabrics
have knit patterns resembling pillowcases that are easy to slip over the frame.
In addition to being simple to slip over displays, tension fabrics
typically have a simple method of fastening the fabric to the frame. The
majority of polyester tension textiles feature hook and loop straps or, in some
cases, zippers sewed to the bottom to lock it over the frame of the display.
To enable it to be displayed from any type of pole layout, pole
pockets can even be sewed around the exterior of this cloth. Uses for Tension
Fabric The most popular hardware for custom printed polyester tension fabrics
is rigid aluminum tube-like gear.
The same fabric is also used for Quick Fabric Displays, a pre-assembled
display with a hook and loop strip construction. Additionally, fitted table
throws with unique prints are produced using this fabric.
